There was Something Beautiful in Your Eyes

I really thought you were beautiful
And I know I shouldn't say that about a man
Especially now you wont even look at me

I guess I never learn from my mistakes
Always, I want things that I cant have
And I shouldn't have wanted you

Perhaps I was only desperate for amore
And lost myself in some kind of delusion
Only to write you a terrible poem

But I really thought you were beautiful...

I understand beautiful even when said to a man. Beauty can be measured with a different yardstick when it comes to men. Men who take umbrage to that word aren't really worth the time and effort to explain it to them.

If they give you ruled paper write sideways.
