moonbeams from the Crescent City
fell upon Lafourche Parish
as palm trees, the queenly ones
controlled by the roiling Gulf of Mexico
the bayou affected by the moons' reflection
is somewhat agitated as the waves
crash upon the shore amid a gator's hiss
I am the only one to observe this spectacle
as I recline on the slope of the bayou's bank
'neath a glittery bedspread of discriminating infinite
I open my heart to her, making it exposed
but not anxious, for the one who has my heart
knows she does even though we're apart
but at this minute in time I tremble with hope
for the love from the elements are mine to have
Love . . . is here . . .
Love at this moment everywhere

One of your best, my friend.  Well done.

Especially liked "moonbeams from the Crescent City fell upon Lafourche Parish . . . ".

So nice to hear it called "The Crescent City" rather than "The Big Easy" piece of garbage it's called now.  We both know where that came from, and how it destroys the magic rather than enhances it.

Jimmy, I've never even THOUGHT of it as the Big Easy. It has always been the Crescent City or Sin City to me. Thank you for your nice comment.

This is an incredibly beautiful love poem... both to your lady and your location!

I must agree this is one of your finer pieces. Your vivid descriptions are tender caresses and love reaches out from every word. Excellent my friend!
