Zastrugi
By: Noah Hibiscus Eaton
8/8/14

Blizzards of silver halide,
diffract across your depth of field,
and your raw skin's every ridge and trough,
casting fog bows around all that's concealed,
dishevelled aphorisms,
pour down your pallid throat,
that you're silently screaming to blossom to song,
but sermons in your memory choke...
.
.
.
...when phosphorescent insomnia,
acquiesces with the charity of night,
I know it feels like no consolation at all,
that you don't have to be awake to cry,
so you hide your face in repose,
seeking clemency in the shadow of a shout,
torn from the throat of midnight,
crystallizing in a foundry of doubt...
.
.
.
...and there are times,
compassion holds its breath,
but treacherously swaying,
like the chandelier at Dolmabahçe Palace,
parting with pendalogues,
like star-trailed tears,
chasing your shadow,
for all I can't utter is all I want to hear,
and I can't turn away,
for I'm amazed,
aching to see the foehn winds,
kiss your white gold face...
.
.
.
...fashioned,
in cinereal circumstance,
inviolate beauty,
bound by quicksilver strands,
awaiting the matitunal magpies,
to thrust a smoky oeillade...
.
.
.
...where your delicate temple's,
latticed with echoes and invisible ink...

...a pristine paradox,
you dare to breach the surface and sink...

...making art,
to realize my own sadness within...

...now all I can't utter,
is all I want to listen...
.
.
.
yes,
all I can't utter,
is all I want to listen...

Dear Noah,
I know you write from the heart...but there are way too many words I would need to look up in order to comprehend your poem.

...and there are times,
compassion holds its breath,

You share so many images... this one touches me most. *S*
