   Edge of Tomorrow

In those grand-immortal
hours of velvet night
just before the dawn,
when darkness sticks
   to the soul,
one recalls in cascading
   regrets
the cavernous loss of
youth and chance and
    love;
yet the mind and heart
rebound with infinite hope
in the magic of the morning
star, each new ‘tomorrow,’
and the delicious possibility
   of love's renewal.

A little different slant to this one, Bruce, more personal somehow. At any rate, your descriptive passage came through loud and clear, as they most certainly always do. Enjoyed!

"When darkness sticks to the soul" GREAT LINE! I will be keeping this one.
