“they” say . . .
life is a ricochet repeat
whot you send into the world
comes right back atcha
whot you sow
you reap
whot you give of yourself
you’ll receive even more back
whot you see in others
is present in you
eh . . .
life may be an echo
and will give back to you
then again
life just very well be . . .
a fraud
who hordes everything
sending zilch back

Gotta love your optimistic disclaimer there at the end.  Had to shake my head and smile... It was so,...so... you!

Gotta love your response, Lori. Thank you. I noticed it was almost a hundred degree up there in Kansas. Sizzling!

"What you see in others
is present in you."

That's a profound concept.  Maybe that explains the dire nearsightedness of about 90% of humanity.  Maybe it not that they refuse to see things from different perspectives, maybe they just can't.

Sorry for the little rant, I know it had nothing to do with you poem, except for maybe being part of the "zilch" we get out of life.  This one was a little bleaker than I expected.  Not that I minded at all, but I've come to a place of peace in the realization that to want and/or expect nothing seems to alleviate much of the disappointment life would otherwise give you.  Life will still throw you a curve once in a while, but it's the disappointment our own perspectives throw us that usually hurt the most.  You taught me that, you know?

Michael, I am overwhelmed by your statement that "You taught me that, you know?" If I had a small bit in helping you find peace I can only say what a miracle. I know at times I made you very unhappy, but buddy, I was really worried about your constant frame of mind. Thank you so much for being here and passing on the special information that you did.
