simple yet plain
and thus the reader may complain.

somewhere sometime
to the grief of a few
death came for his due
a man of wise words
who asked a simple question
is there a rose in heaven?
or are you to deprive me
of such mortal pleasures?

Worded just right and I appreciate the appeal from reality.
Good work!

I know back in the 60's Ben E King mentioned there was a "Rose In Spanish Harlem"......

Good work!

The best writings sometimes need only few words to make a statement this one is that one. I enjoyed it very much.
