Hell...
Lake of fire.
Tormentors who never tire.
Punishment that never ends,
no chance to make amends.
Don't bother to count the days.
How long is forever anyway?
Just for argument's sake,
what kind of sense does that make?

It is supposed to make sense...
Isn't it?

              Ida Werrett

I wanted to say what the H... kind sense does that make
but was afraid I might get censored again.

ALL human mythology would be fascinating if its
effects were not so 'deadly' in this world!

a finely 'devilish' point this 'write' makes indeed !

Ah, rubbish is what that fantasy is. That is my belief at any rate, Ida. However, there is an old saying going round which go like this: If there wasn't a God, man would have to invent Him. And that is exactly what they did.

~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~

Thanks for your input, Bruce.

Well, Jerry, Whatever I believe in, it sure isn't hell.

I am like-minded, dear Ida, and appreciate your poetic pondering and wondering. It does not make sense at all, no! Eternal condemnation can't be planned within a Project of Love. So, as I think Love is the beginning of all life, Love is also the constant and objective of all life.
I like to imagine that not one single soul will ever be eternally lost, Lucifer comprised.
Hell definitely doesn't make sense, there is no place for it in A Divine Project of Love, which encompasses forgiveness.

You have a way of stirring the thoughts, dear Ida.

Love,
Margherita

Have you ever read "Inferno" (1976 I think) by Niven and Pournelle?  I'm presently reading "Escape from Hell", the sequel (2010).  It's an interesting, and much more readable, take, based on Dante's  epic poem "Inferno".

They address your poem perfectly.

Good write...

Ida...

Thank you for sharing....
sometimes I think "forever"
will last as long as one wants it to,
thinking that there might be an end
to it, wondering...

and as long as one wonders, "forever"
in whatever sense, good, or bad, or hell, or better
will be around.

Thank you, Karilea. When I was about 5 my Mom was involved with some fire and brimstone christians and I was just thinking about some of the conversations I heard the other day.

I think the point of "Hell" is the same as the point of "Heaven".

It's not some place, some ride where you have to be "this tall" to ride. They are both just places of our own creation, and we choose, according to our conscience.

That's enough to condemn anyone to Hell.

Ty for sharing this thoughtful write.
