when you are constantly damaged
by life's daily toil
if the deep shadows inside your thoughts
keep you off balance
confused and friendless
and jackhammers beat a relentless tattoo
within your chest a hurtful, hurting
by evenings end
you find solace with a bottle of red
numbing effect is therapeutic

Hah! I need more than a Scandinavian mystery movie, ms. e., and all that mediation gives me a headache. Thank you for being here and the advice.

Bruce, I hear you loud and clear. Thanks . . .

I don't know what a bottle of red can do as I don't drink; but I can relate to your words very much and know the feelings. If this is a true reflection of yourself then please accept my sympathy and hope you feel well again soon. The poem had a nice flow to the words.

Rain just rolled in and will be here for the next few days so I expect to feel this way soon myself.

Those jackhammers just never seem to lose power, do they? And we cope however we can.
