Another friend of mine died today from cancer. I hate cancer with every fiber of my being. Donna worked at the dental office I went to. I started going there about three years ago and I was terrified. She instantly made me laugh and we became friends. We got a bit closer after she stopped working and I took Wednesday afternoons off to take her shopping, get her mail, just do some errands. It was special time. Donna was a wonderful woman - among the very best out there. She died this morning. I will miss my friend, Donna. When I close my eyes And think of you I see your smile, so welcoming I see your eyes as they dance With mischief and intelligence That’s what I see When I close my eyes And think of you If I listen closely I can hear you Your laughter always makes me smile Your voice teases away apprehension And envelopes me with friendship That’s what I hear When I listen closely For you I can feel you still In my mind and in my heart I can feel you still I won’t forget Never, will I forget Your sense of humor and witty remarks How good you were at what you did so well And that you cared for me when I was afraid Never will I forget I won’t forget You - I love you. So very sorry, Alison. Having been touched by cancer I will tell you that I hate it as much as you do. This is a warm and wonderful tribute to your friend, who sounds like a very special lady. Hugs, Ida |

Heartbreaking tribute to your friend, Donna. When someone we have grown close to passes the agony sometimes seems unbearable. Remember the good times with her, and no, I know you will not forget Donna. I'm sorry. ~*~ Death is a common weed: requires no rain. ~*~ |

Thank you all. I'll respond personally later, but my heart hurts too much right now. I have lost three people ... three people that I truly loved ... to cancer within the last six months. Each person brought so much to my life. Please consider supporting cancer research. Thank you again, Alison |

Oh, Alison... this is purely heart-wrenching. You're keeping what was precious about Donna with you, though, and that would have been my only advice for you, understanding fully how cancer has a tendency to destroy multiple lives for each one it steals. ((Hugs)) dear, and my condolences. Michael |

I am so sorry for your loss! Each loss diminishes us... and when one comes after another, the hurt intensifies. Remember... and take comfort from those memories. (((hugs))) |
