.

Once
You could not tread
The roads of Rome
And not hear
Her praises sung

Oh I was there
Passing traveler
I know the truth
Of whom they sang

The sun and moon
Were her mindful courtiers
Flowers enslaved themselves
To strew her ways

I died as well
To serve
Her whims and dreams
However ephemeral
They may have seemed

For I was young
And full
Of knightly themes

And after all
She was beautiful

I think you have traveled in many realms, John, and it shows in your poetry.

It is the harmony of the universe
