You see me every day
You speak to me and ask me how
  I am doing.
Why then can't you hear the pain
  screaming with every "I'm fine"?
Why can't you see the dark I am
  drowning in?
You don't see the battle for every
  inch of "normal" I possess,
The tears I cannot cry,
The sadness that eats my very soul.
Why cant you see the walls I try
   to climb,
the walls that just keep getting
   higher, thicker, blacker
Until Im just the echo of the
   penny dropped in the well.
Why cant you see...when you see me...
   do you see me
Why cant you see?

Yes, that's a problem! People have to be polite and answer "I'm fine" even if they feel "not fine". Such rules of the game.
And not anyone can see the truth (((
I like your poem, Paula!

I like this, Paula. Your inner hell comes through with verve and audacity.

Nice to read you Paula.

I feel the same way lately. Putting on a "good face" sometimes is easier.
