I open the door
and call to them...
my thoughts, ideas,
questions, dreams,
and they come running,
these children
of my reality.
They are uniquely mine
and I revel in their growth
as they frolic
on the playground
of my mind.
I nurture them
and hold them dear
for I have given birth to them.

Very interesting, Ida. And they are, aren't they, our children? Liked this one very much.

Hi, Ida.

I see that you, too, wistfully reminisce about your 'babies,' as I call mine. But in truth, and poetry aside, as old as I am, I got a late start in life, so my babies are still just that! Now, if I can get them to grow to fruition!

In any case, enough rambling about me. Your write was evocative and full of longing. Beautiful!

PS: I also neglected to mention that I may never claim to have actually given birth to anything other than, maybe, an idea!

As my Mom's baby, I realized that, in her eyes, I was always her little girl.  Now that my Mom is gone, I hold tight to the fact that I will remain, forever, her little girl ~ her baby.

I think I've closed the door on my "children" perhaps preferring to remain distanced from everything that plays in my mind but I do watch them from the window to make sure they're safe.  Nice one, Ida!

I love your creative take on this vision of your mind's playground, dear Ida.

Beautiful!
