sundown in springtime
Thibodaux, Louisiana
a grandiose, timely place to be
gentle breeze
from the Gulf of Mexico
a sense of peace and love
in the air
even as the sun is sinking blood red
into the Pacific Ocean
there is a full moon shining
in the darkening sky
the evening has begun
dreamy like
everyone fills whatever void
needs filling
allowing this sundown
to merge into the nighttime
status in easy to find ambiance
of South Louisiana
we eagerly give into the lusty night
we are as one with it
laissez les bons temps rouler*

Hey, growing up, I had a girlfriend with the same name, well, spelled Tibbedeaux, but pronounced the same. I believe. ...and, whew! that gave me a huge flash of memories in and of itself.  Thanks.

...anyways, I like the tempo of this poem; lively, upbeat, and colorful. Yeah, for sure, let those good times roll. Yes-siree bob, let 'em roll!

Everything about this beckons me back for another visit. So soft, so inviting, so generous with its lushness. Thank you!

You even managed to make a swamp with 'gators and snakes and other scary things worth overlooking, just to be able to see it through your eyes.

What a nice thing to say, Lori. It's the attitude that makes the difference, my friend.

Yes, EmmaRose, we like to think Thibodaux and Lafourche Parish is a very nice place to visit, and to live for that matter. Thank you for being here.
