Shenandoah roams
the morning lea
She dances 'round
the willow's leaves

Prances 'cross
the picket's points
Heedless of
her lithesome joints

Stretches, arches,
curls and leaps
Advances well
before she sweeps

About the sands
of time's cascade
And nonchalantly
heeds her master's bade

Turning now
to coalesce
She bids "Good-bye"
with few regrets.

For though
she'd wander, roam and sleep,
She'll not cut off
her master's keep.

Slinking home
with grand intent;
The gypsy cat's
feed's been spent.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Thanks so much you three; for reading and for your very encouraging words. I had much fun composing and after reading Honeybunch's I couldn't stand not trying one of my own. Mine's sillier, but was fun!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Well done, Virginia!  I could certainly see your cat.  Such a fancy name too.  Enjoyed!
