Musky huskies
     howl the moondog serenade

Sing and fling
     their voices o'er the glade

Into the night
     their flight wafts the waves

Calling, calling
     ancient Aleutian Braves

Come, come
     mush the tundra, dance

Rhythmic
     strides, in glorious prance

Rested now
     we rise toward the firmament

Renewed, refreshed
     in full and rife contentment

We greet the morn
     with energy's abound

As night
     gives way the morning sound

Awake, aware
     the wondrous birth of day

We leap
as if it were our destined play

(Okay, now, tell me how to get off of this couplet train! I think it should have ended several "cars" ago.)

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I think you said more than I could have with those couplets ha. A good one V. from one V. to another.

Thanks, V.
But I keep waiting to return to resolving chord. Each concluding couplet doesn't, it keeps ending on the rise, rather than on a settling fall.

Your words help me like it a little more for the humor of them.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

An alternative to Moon Dogs

Huskies sling voices
     into the night

Calling Aleutians
     dance the tundra

In rhythmic prance.
     Rise the day

Content
     renewed of energy,

Aware
     snow-coated Earth

Its
     joy of play.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Wow, dear Virginia, you did a wonderful job. It carried me away really.

(and I had to check a couple of words and I am so happy to have discovered "glade" (Waldlichtung).

I do like the second one too, but I must say I missed the richness of the first, which by the way in my opinion could have gone on even for longer.

Fine write really.

I must say "glade" certainly has fewer syllables if "waldlichtung" is the translation.

And thanks so much for your encouraging words!!
