                 Truly Alive

Beyond these grand darkling hills,
as scarlet clouds skim the candent,
water edged horizon,
in a fine Winter sunset’s
translucent-ripple afterglow,
a lovely twilight sings to a limpid
   moon rising
over the sweet-serene, refreshing
   freedom of this wilderness,
in whose presence we are
most humbled … and yet, most
   truly ‘alive!’

Had to look up "candent." I like it when I run across words I'm not familiar with, Bruce. You painted a humbling picture of humans enjoying what Mother Nature gives them, and at the same time as being humbled, we push out our chests because we are happy in the glory of her.

I'm sure Mother Nature smiles every time you pick up your pen, Bruce.

Mother Nature demands attention.  She led me a merry dance until at last I surrendered.  Good one, Bruce!

Beautiful. When in Nature that is when I feel truly alive. For even if alone, everything around is alive - from the microscopic - to the macroscopic. The connection is ancient...and eternal.

Well done, Bruce.

You are a wonderful conductor of nature's magnificent musical expressions.
