Lady Sunday walked into
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
and there paused for just a spell
to consider all her options.

Suddenly the wind rose up
and pushed her forwards/on
and then despite many thoughts
she found herself in Saturday
situated, yes, of course, on the edge
of remembrances.

And then as would be
the sea rose fulsome/free
but the shore unfriendly as before
forced her to land again
back into herself.

Sunday is a day of thought
and dreams not meant to be
but, oh, she loved them way back when
she stepped most gingerly
into knowing more.

She still knows more and yet she hides
behind tumultuous storms
that always without fail
blanket all that went before,
cause the rain to fall,
and hasten her departure
into that dreaded Monday.

Now Monday shadows all her days
like truth known but never seen
to make of life’s ordained cycles
a plain and simple mockery.

And the one who thrives on mockery
grows bigger, grander, more imposing
in his cave not made by man
until one day most hopefully
the exit point too small
for evil to re-enter
life’s ordained cycles.

Life’s cycles; yes, indeed
they’re meant to make us see
no one should forever be
a Lady Sunday just like me!

Aww Honey~ This made me cry, mostly because I feel the saddness in your heart, and because, like you, it reminds me of better days.  Your poetry is brutally honest and sincere. ...I wish I could find the right words to say to you, Helen dear.  Just know you and your poetry always move me in the most gentle way.  I hope you will continue to grace us with your love for the written word, and that you will find peace in the New Year.

God Bless your heart, Lady Sunday.
Big ol' bear hugs!!!

Thank you, dear Bluesy gal!  I may be sad but life ain't all bad, you know.  It's just that every time you call me Lady Sunday I can't help but remember the start of it all.  I have no true definition of "all" but whatever it was it turned my life upside down and I haven't yet managed to be right way up again all the time. Hugs are always nice even if virtual ones so thank you very much.  I guess the written word was and still is my outlet for feelings which don't seem to come around as often these days as they once did.  I suppose that could perhaps be called "peace".

Anyway, here's to 2013!  It's not likely to make all our dreams come true but we sure can hope for some of them.

Love
Helen

Enjoyed reading Helen, the first time I have read it. Mondays are always sort of blah arent they, for some reason. Dreams are nice even though not meant to be most of the time...Happy New Year to you.

Thanks Ida and Victoria.  I think dreams always come true but I just don't know in which lifetime.
