Tonight, is the
hindmost
dead
of night

The final,
pitch
of dark

No more twinkle
little
stars

No more
flashing
sparks

No more
caca

Doodle
doo

No more,
break
of dawn

No more break
of fast
and fury

No more eggs,
and hawm

The stars are all
in line
once more

To give their
Last,
goodbye

Fate can
kiss
our sorry,
ass

Our echo
will,
not die

What is
end
without
beginning

What are
lies
of truth

What can
answers
really mean

If life can
steal
our youth

When were
questions
that we
bled

Upon the
skin
of earth

Ever going
to be
explained

Before
this
backward
birth

The wheel
of fortune’s
ticking
down

Onto
it’s
final,
spin

The penalty
for
being
us

Is that we’ve
never,
been

And even
if

We all,
survive

To live
another,
day

We will
learn
that all
along

That
we,
were just
the prey

The stars worked
hard
to make
a
voice

To somehow
set them
free

To speak for
all
that ever
was

And all
there will,
to be

Maybe,
if we
all
reach in

And stop
this
wheel,
of sinning

We will learn
that this
was
just

The end
of our,
beginning

I don't understand the "end of our daze" and how it came to be that we believed in some small way that it was so.  However your poem was interesting, mankind is not without flaws and crazed human beings,  but there is still a lot of good in this world.  I think all the wonderful poets at pip are proof of that.

Hi Lori thanks so much for great review. A lot of folks have been a little dazed about this mayan calendar 12/21/2012 end of days today, so that is why I named the piece what I did. In the beginning im just kind of pointing out some things we would obviously miss if it hypothetically was to end today, and then Im just basically rambling on about lifes questions etc. In the end my point is that the harder we try to better ourselves that this day like any day can start to be the end of the beginning of that and the start of a better way for all our days to come.

it seems mankind is convicted by non chalance of self promise, would that we all cared more for one another, thankfully our ultimate fate holds true promise beyond one
day,

enjoyed the read,

a poem is a sigh
a melody of song
a musical lullaby
