Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2012-02-10 01:21 PM

In the morning
while my loves still sleep
and the house is speaking
in creaks and taps and hums
I bounce black words on white
from a semi sleepy head
Fuzzy dream fragment linger
imparting from my heart
pieces of peaceful
Coffee and wide awake
soon claim my attention
letting the dreaded dread begin
Ah but if and only
I could highlight and delete
all my consternation
cleared away
and my plain and simple complete
I look for me among the debris
of a drama from back then
trying to find a nugget
of my nit-picky
that kept me on an even keel
But that was before
that ship sank
and drowned
a good part of me

The past can, and does at times, reach out to chew on our soft places, Lori. Nice work dealing with it though.

sinking its teeth into my tenders today and it is driving me. Stepping away every so often to write this helped. Thanks for listening to me whine some more...I been doing alot of that lately.

Awakening to the dreaded dread...

Seeking the peace beyond all understanding is a daily search for harmonies in quiet places.  I found myself smiling ruefully at your words, and thinking how wise it is to sometimes step away from the daily bombardment, at least momentarily, to regroup and breathe.  There will always be a whine to the daily grind, but you aren't it, Lori.  This touched my heart with it's wistfulness.

Klassy Lassy Thank you for your very kind words and I wish it were just daily grind but I am truly grieving a change in myself
call it a PTSD of sorts. Ironically if I wasn't so hard on myself about it, it wouldn't be so hard on me.

Fuzzy dream fragment linger
imparting from my heart
pieces of peaceful

If only we could hang onto those pieces! But they're obliterated so easily... Great write!
