CHRISTMAS CAROL

Darkness descends, its' cloud of black laced fingers
Like a lady of the night
And field mouse, what does he know, scurrying round
In lane's hedgerow silent fright
And graveyards, do they hold fears, in crosses gloom
Nothing there, but drying tears
Blanket of night, that holds no warmth, no comfort
Watching now, the sky now clear
Holly wreaths, upon our doors, red berries there
Was it once a thorny crown
Do sleigh bells ring, in their dreams, as children sleep
Safe beneath the blanket down
Yet on the streets, some so cold, in cardboard homes
Stockings, are not hung for them
Stories told of Christmas time, and yuletide glow
Can peace and love, come back, again

Yes it is sad, isnt it.
I do like that first line, I could see diamond stars on the laced fingers. Enjoyed.
