.

Our king the one
We served has died
And for him by decree
We have raised
An impressive tomb

However on the side
Of a hill under the shade
Of trees she loved I have
Raised over her the one
I loved a little mound of stones

So you unknown
Who may pass this way
After we are gone
Will know who mattered
In this ugly land

And think perhaps
For all the time
We are not that different
After all

Sadly the way of the world, John. This poem is worth more than any monument.
