the future is ahead
old memories I do not hold back
for they have their feral way with me
I come alive again
without memories . . . stagnation

easy to get used to being alone
no one to answer to
or satisfy
still . . .
an empty nest expects some regret

You don't want to do that, r v, turn against yourself. Take it from experience, I spent about the decades going in that direction, and it is a sad, revolving Merry-Go-Round into despair.
