when i was young i wrote no poetry
tho it might have saved my life
in the intervening years i have wandered wide
trying to find that lost life
and now knowing still not where to find it
i must try to relax into the slip-slide of decline
and hope to free the shackles and the shrouds
just enough to feel the day
      and the chasing night
find a few words to tell the tale
      pointless as it might be
to leave at least a reflection
      in the passing waters
before there is no one left
      to look down upon it

Enjoyed.

(And I couldn't help it--I had to sing "Yesterday once more."

You are ever inspirational, as is the guy who inspired you.

Oh, Krawdad, pointless it is most certainly not, because there is all of us to leave it for.  I never miss a Krawdad poem that is there when I am in Pip, because I know that all of your art is real and beautiful and poetry in its highest form.
