How many dreams
Your feelings created
For each one means
Now forever belated

What vestigial tears
The unclaimed laughter
From only ten years
Silence echoing ever after

What becomes of the life
The moments stolen away
As daughter yet wife
Never realizing that day...

For Jessica...

Way too much of this kind of thing happening in this country. Pedophiles who molest, just molest children deserve death. It goes without saying of they molest and murder a child they deserve death . . . Or worse . . . Turn them over to the murdered and molested child's family.

Deeply poignant words, dear Victor, in memory of beautiful innocent Jessica whose cruel destiny brings unbearable pain ...

I couldn't help but hear Harry Chapin singing "Cats in the Cradle" when I read this.  My children are grown and the visits are distanced much further apart than I care for.  The clock truly became my enemy at some point and that's just one of the reasons.  Great poem.
