       Flight of the Heron

Ancient Autumn oaks march
along the deep-forest edge,
(toward the vanishing point
   of Time)
trailing frosty ribbons of
  smoke and mist
through the calm-bright dawn.
A lone Heron leads the way
  into Winter.

Bruce...I would love to hold some autumn gloaming of change...here it is still summer sun.  Lovely imagery as always in your writing.

It is still like summer here as well but each morning I go out to feel the cool air of fall and daydream of its beauty...love the vision this poem gave me...the Heron is such a majestic bird...well done...*BIG HUGS*

*may our dreams ever be magical*

Such a beautiful scene you paint with your words.
The ribbons of smoke did it for me.

Excellent poem, dreampoet~
