Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2012-09-19 09:55 AM

Throwing my head back
with gales of laughter

Having tickled myself
with some off the wall thought

I cannot catch my breath
long enough to speak
to curious looks
from bemused eyes

They can’t help
but start to smile
as I totally succumb
to my fit of hilarious

As my laughter
becomes contagious
and grins go to giggles
in spite of themselves

I care not at all
they are laughing at
the spectacle of me
Only that they are
laughing unexpectedly

. . . as long as they are laughing, you've given their day a boost . . .

Exactly! Share the light hearted!  Take two guffaws and call me in the morning!

OMG....I'm not sure why it hits when it hits, I only know that of this very fact...

I am SERIOUSLY guilty!

You gave their day a gift... and your poem has given more because I may not be laughing... but I'm sure smiling!

I have moments like that too...
And maybe way too often.

Enjoyed, LGR...

Thanks JL,
When it comes to laughing, I don't think there is such a thing as too often.  Not in my world anyway.

Enjoyed this bit of levity; I've been guilty of the same all too often. More often than I'd like to think, if I share what actually set me off, it's not nearly as hilarious to others. Oh, well, I had a good laugh from it, anyway.
Thanks for recharging my memory.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
