I decided to post this before I went to bed, because Hurricane Isaac is supposed to make landfall in about an hour and a half, and I have a feeling we'll lose power during the night. Actually I'm thinking Isaac is a bit doofus

it's early morning
there's something in the air
a tenseness
wasn't there yesterday
wind is picking up
no blue between the clouds
gray overcast
turning to pitch black dark
when Isaac has it way with us
what a time for a hurricane
and what a place picked out to hit
seven years ago tomorrow
Isaac return's to the scene of Katrina's crime
Hurricane Katrina had its way with all over New Orleans
and surrounding states
August 29, 2005
Isaac is projected to wrap New Orleans
in its blanket of
black skies, fierce winds, rain, rain, rain
thunder and lighting
tornadoes here and there
waiting for Isaac
to do what he has to do and go visit somebody else
got everything tied down
but there's always something that'll break loose
I sit here
waiting for Isaac

My whole family is up in Pearl River (just past Slidell, and not anxiously awaiting Isaac.

I can see by the weather channel you're feeling the winds and rain now pretty good now. More so than they are so far.

I almost drove down the other day (I'm in Houston area) to be with the family, but then I'd be another mouth to feed and water and "baby-sit".  Not something needed right now.

Unfortunately, you guys are on the wet side of the storm...

Wish you all luck,

j.

To know that Isaac is about to hit your area must be scary, especially after what happened with Katrina. I read it stalled and backed into the sea again ... but the risks are not yet over it seems.

You have written your emotions very well, Jerry!

powerfully expressive 'reality write' !

Men say they 'know' many things
but lo, they have taken wings
All the 'arts' and the 'sciences'
and myriad appliances ...
The wind that blows
is far, far more
than anyone truly 'knows'

No, J. now would have not been a good time to visit. We're getting pounded, but finally got the generator up and tuning.

Yeah, Margherita , it did back into the gulf again, but figured it all out and headed our way. Drat.

Ah, leave it to you, Bruce to put everything in such a poetical expression.

Stay safe, Jerry. I've been seeing pics of the flooding from the levee breach in Plaquemines Parish... and doing lots of praying.

Thanks, Lori, we just got power back on about twenty minutes ago, I can't believe it, sometimes I have had to wait two weeks for them to turn it back on.

I am so glad I don't live down there anymore! I sure don't miss waiting and waiting...and losing power for weeks...I went through Ivan and I wouldn't want to do it again.

I'm glad you're okay
