The Vision

© wesley james beard, jr.
    january 2012

Note:

My daughter wanted to know how this piece came about, so:
this soccer ball has been sitting in this one spot for a very long time.
And most of that time I knew I wanted a picture of it, and written piece to go with it -
so it remained there, months and months, until
this morning when I walked out back and saw it (as I have every day) and had a
"Vision". I took the picture, and the words were waiting by the time I got it into the computer.
This is that Vision.   Hope you enjoy.

j.

Ah, that is lovely, j. Sometimes the words have to wait until we are as one with them.

Well done, JW.

The poem brings to surface many different thoughts..reminds me of looking at old photographs...pictures locked in time, of balls, and children playing..all locked in pose, as is the picture of the scoccer ball now..

An emotion rose in me when I read this poem...something moved inside.

So I would call this poem very effective...
It has done its job well.
