MAY I CALL YOU “SEBASTIAN”?
28 April 2012

Ten years to the day
since my beloved Flicka-horse
went to Heaven,
and deeply immersed
in heart-scraping melancholy and my work
this night, and Bach
with silver trills
and finely honed notes
singly and collectively
melting a pathway
deep into my memories
of Flicka
and Daisy-dog
and Tigger-cat
both there with Flicka
and way, way back to earliest childhood
where music and beauty and deep thoughts
and games with rules unknown to any but me
and crafting of memories
were ingrained in my pre-school self
without articulation,
neither then nor now
but remembered with the ache of loss
and tender reminiscence.
Sebastian, if I may call you that, Mr Bach,
how did you know my heart so well?
Seeing you know me so intimately,
you will understand the depth
of my thank you.

"... remembered with the ache of loss
   and tender reminiscence."

Fine write !

(Bach is my personal favorite ... particularly
harpsichord with the 18th. century tuning)

What a wonderful tribute to one whose music is timeless! I think he'd be honored to make your acquaintance! *S*

Thank you, Ida for the understanding hug.  Giggles, I am sure Bach will be a little surprised, but that he will appreciate his immensely too!

Thank you Ruth for your kind words.  Yes, it is so easy to get lost in his music.  Giggles at the idea of Bach being honoured to make my acquaintance!

I am sure he would say,

"You're wish is granted, m'dear"
and bow deeply.

Oh, how music goes straight to our soul!

Perhaps, Karilea . . . but it is good to imagine he would.  Smiles.

Wow, James!  Thank you with much appreciation from Flicka, Daisy, Tigger, me - and I do believe, Sebastian himself!
