those times were hand me down handsome
the playful times when water fountains
had more love than just holding hands
and we would race each other there

to get the next drink, pretending to swallow
so we had something the other wanted more
and then a kiss would steal it from laughter
and turns would be taken as if automatically

excuses were hidden under hemlines and trees
when innocent felt so naughty when broken
so we left the pieces around the playground
wondering who would notice their disarray

and would they wonder why we broke them often

I love this, DS... especially the first verse. *S* Thank you for whisking me back into magical times... before those splinters started drawing blood. *S*

I wanna play too!  Who can resist a good waterfall and shared kisses wrapped around laughter?  Not me.

One has to either love
your imagination
or your rememberings,
or both,
or all.

Or just the way
you wind words.

Yea, that's it.

It's all in the wind.
