Rain Drops

Rain drops beat mournful tunes on my window
A cooling breeze flows through the dry forest
Branches turn upwards to catch precious drops
A dry path quickly turns to earth filled mire

Tears fall from eyes just learning how to cry
Breeze cools the face as pain squeezes the heart
Face turns up seeking solace in the rain
Feeling sad from tunes cleanses the spirit

Listen to drip, drop of life giving rain
Feel the nourishment it gives to the earth
Taste the elixir of it on the tongue
See how it brings the world around to life

The sun comes out to sparkle off the trees
Steam flows upward replenishing the clouds
Soft breezes now caress questing spirit
Rain drops have brought rebirth to heart and soul

You found the emotions that had me gulping off and on throughout this fantastic written poem, Karen.
