just for a moment
pretend you still love me
hold me in your arms
as if you mean it
if not for love
then for the memories

nothing else matters
time has no meaning
in approaching the abyss
where death may bring
an end to the nightmare
that is called living

make me close my eyes
hold me, hold me
as you once did
then gently
blow out my candle
when I am not looking
and I will be forever grateful

if not for love
then because I asked

remember I did love you

and thus she passed
with no turning back
on a one way ticket
from a life no longer living
no return passage available

Yes, it is a lamentable situation you have found yourself in. Good luck in the future.

tp - Such a sad piece that pulls the heart out of its "safety deposit box" and then with that first breath of air it promptly breaks to leave the pieces scattered beyond retrieval.

Stirring echoes here.  Love the druidic passion.

I was mesmerized by the beauty of the first verse... but every word goes right to the heart!

This is sad but also extremely passionate!
Great reading and lyrical in many ways.
