Her voice does not come
as often now,
   as it did back then.
What once was heard
loud and clear
is now heard as
distant whispers
on the wind.

         She will not be silenced.

The images have faded to dim,
no longer are they sharp
in my minds eye view.
Her curves and colors
have all changed
with the progression
of time,
and I wonder,
perchance
would she still know me?

           She is, unforgettable.

The way she wore her tranquility
made me feel safe, secure
   and comfortable
    like a blanket of warmth
       on a cold winters night.

I marveled at her beauty
was in awe of her power,
              and grateful
that she would welcome me home
faithfully, every day.

           I drifted with time,
                  and in time, moved on.

Sometimes,
when the sun warms the day
and falls upon this pale of skin
I can feel her spirit fill me

I hear her in the breeze....

the mountain is calling me home.

(something old that called to me today...)

I fall back into the old days and feelings from time to time myself, G.S., although there are dark halls of my past that I fear to tread even in dreams or remembrances.

I thoroughly enjoy this with its "I won't let you forget me" attitude . . .

Ah, daughter....how good to see you drift
back into the blue pages...

something old, now new again, to new readers,
and delighting us "old folk" once again.

However far we wander, however soft the whisper - we hear the beckoning of such places. *S* What a gorgeous write!!

Wow... this brought my day to an absolute stand still.  When you write like this, how could she not recall you?  Amazing in both imagery and content.

I read an article in the New York Magazine yesterday about an aging mother.  This poem really touched me and I thought of that woman, that parent, that elder ~ and I hope she returns to such a place that she has loved.

This feels like a muse who has departed, returning slowly.
