I heard the sunset bid goodbye
Above the city noise
Tomorrow's hope still lingers
For those with open eyes.

"I am the voice of future
The words of special praise
I'll seek you after star dust
I'll give you songs to sing."

"I am the splendid reason
That comes before despair
The joy of ancient healing
Wherein the quest is shared."

"Across the concrete towers
I call the hopeless weak,
And bid the brain to blossom
Above the graceless deeds."

"Within the aching heartbeats
I store a sacred spark
And make the soul survivors
Strike out against the dark."

I heard that sunset whisper
Above the smog filled streams
"The world is here for lovers
The serial of dreams."

"I am the truth of living
I am tomorrow's plan
From evening til the morning
I come refreshed again."

"I bless the dawn with crimson
I drink the sea's deep blue
I fortify green leaves
I bring relief to view."

"I dance upon the hillsides
I guide lost beggars home
Give way to stars of night time
While nature stands alone."

"Within the world of living
I am the light of truth
With rays of lasting wisdom
I cry to ears of youth."

"I hear the breeze of summer
Call to the fields of flowers
"The world is made forever
With beauty's secret power."

"I come back like a treasure
Each day I'm right on time
And all my work is pleasure
Feeding lowly and divine."

"I call to those ungrateful
To raise their head and see
The produce in the market
Comes from a diseased sea."

"I beg the earth to answer
For soiled nature's pains
And save the worth of wonders
Still coping under chains."

"This is the search for conscience
That cry for global change
Which smothers greed with lovers
Until I return again."

You said a lot within the structure of this one, Eric. I liked it, and although you and I cross swords on certain fine points of what is right and good, I concur wholeheartedly with this masterpiece.

Oh yes, that she does!

Your words are a wonderful way to begin a day.

This is well worth several reads. I know I will be back again and again.

This, sir, is an incredible piece of writing.

"Across the concrete towers
I call the hopeless weak,
And bid the brain to blossom
Above the graceless deeds."

I loved the imagery and the choice of words throughout.  Saving this one.

I've read this several times and it's had a greater impact each time... which, I guess, is why I'm so late responding. Awe doesn't help a blonde's thought processes. LOL
