I woke this morning to birds
Speaking my name
In a mood I can’t quite describe
Yet borders on shame
All there was and
All there will ever be
In the most peaceful quiet
These things come to me
Light slowly creeping
Birds softly speaking
My name, over and over
Like a repetitive chant
My mind plays tricks
Like some twisted sycophant
Out of the darkness peers
The solar eye
Parting the gloom
Of the night-time sky
From its sight there
Is no escape
For its sacrifice there’s
No time to waste
What a picture painted
Here in my private world
At peace with myself
And holding on to that girl
Wishing it to never end,
Must be dreaming again

To be at peace with oneself is a very

satisfying way to be, especially when holding on to a lovely girl. much enjoyed.
