baby shoes are not in antique boxes now
and gone dogs are still barking evenings
as if the moon was a listening master

the lawns are always greener after burials
something about spent soul miracle grow depth
as the gold tooth black man calls it

says the dark dirt has all been born again
like ja-hova been redoing his garden after
the widow tears brought all of their water

and waved some folded flags over white stones
rest in easy kind of voodoo conjuring maybe
like that space between the channels on tv

after unhappy endings turn to new eye days

Strange, this...
as I was coming home tonight
after a field of differing trials
there on the corner of This and That
stood a man before a Subway eatery...
mouthing words I could not hear
singing something into winds we
could not see...but that bounced our
cars all the same...

and here you are...

singing his strange songs...

but most likely not by your lonesome blue skies...

thanks for this...it brings so much
into someone's perspective.

A fine read Dark-one. The feel is equal to your name and style. Thanks for sharing.

The tone, imagery and meaning in this is excellent! This is seriously your best poem to date! Now that's saying something because all of your poems are beyond compare and top notch!
I relate to your words more than I can express.
