Bones was sitting at home
with the family.

Word came that Bones Dad
was dying
and wanted to see him.

Bones Dad was in a
Veteran’s Hospital
down in Georgia,
because Dad was a hero
in World War II.

Yes he was.

World War II
was kind of too much
for Bones Dad.

Yes it was.

Bones took his
oldest daughter along.

Bones and his daughter
stayed in Georgia
for the funeral.

They brought Dad’s flag home,
along with his metals.

Bones wishes his Dad
could have had
a happier life.

Bones Dad didn’t
deserve to die
locked up
most of his life.

Bones Dad was a violent man,
Who was bad with guns.

Bobby

Alas, this is so touching and sad, Bobby. Bones has carried so many weights upon his shoulders from his youth up. He is strong, indeed! I really enjoyed this somber, but strangely uplifting poem. Thanks---

Thanks Art,

I'm pleased you found some good in this.

Bones says the only moral obligation we have in this life is to do the best, and most good, with the hand we're dealt.

Sad how that is for Bone's Dad.  Bones turned out pretty good in spite of it.

I'll call you Bones when you are silly and fun and Bobby when you are serious. O.K.  My heart goes with you, it is always hard to loose a loved one. But you are lucky to have had your daughter with you. our children can be such a comfort. Those we love don't always do as we would like them to do, this goes for children as will as parents, but we all have our free agency to live our lives as we see fit.  God help us all.
