Confusion

Standing on the hill
And staring upward
Into the infinite black
Alone but for Heavens company
This night, like so many others
The Moon hides her face from me
Like the eternally forsaken lover
So much to give
But none to take it.
Her perfect flaw is revealed
Though she will not notice me.

And so,
I bathe in the stars
And take what comfort I can
They counsel patience,
Though even Wind and Water
Cannot sway me quickly
For by the sculptors hand
I am Stone and Steel
In the likeness of Apollo
And formed to be just this;
Frozen in my longing
For the heart of the Night

This is absolutely terrific. Five stars.

What a satiny finish.  Excellent work.

@ viking_metal- Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@ Earth Angel- Thank you, I was afraid that it was a bit too... ephemeral?

@ ThisDiamond- Thank you, and it's good to be here!
