We mourn the loss of those we love
We weep the tears of pain
But with each tear the heart gives up
The more it can contain

A deeper breath of spring we breathe
A warmer sun we reap
A better dance the heart will spin
And higher will it leap

More lustrous is the silver moon
More radiantly it glows
More tranquil is the morning mist
And softer is the rose

For now our sorrow must be spent
And tears must find release
So weep, dear heart, until you wake
To find your day of peace

Elizabeth - you are a very warm woman, with a warm heart of tenderness... This I see when reading this writing...

Dear Elizabeth, this finds the way into the heart of this reader for the feelings so beautifully expressed are deep and sincere.

We do miss the ones that once
touched our hearts, don't we,
Lady Santos?

A beautiful, touching tribute
to those who have passed on.

Yo dear Elizabeth,

This is a very interesting form well pulled off.  Does the form have a name?

This is gorgeous!  Indeed, those whom we have loved or once loved, whether they have passed away or have simply left our lives to move on, will continue to touch our hearts forever.

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!

Elizabeth

How true and how fortunate we are to have the release.
Very very nicely done as usual.

So beautiful and so real.  I too have loved and lost, (my son) we find the strength to go on. Love your poem.

This is beautiful and wise as usual, and gave me an epiphany.  Thank you.  I had thought along these lines in a vague sort of way, but you put it so clearly.  You are so right.  The more we suffer loss, the more sensitive we are to the gifts of family, friends, animals and the glory of Nature.

I do not believe that I can find the words to do this poem justice.  It is so difficult to lose a loved one but I do find solace in this.
