Unholiest of trinities--
the bow, the arrow and the string
all of them still quivering
as I grasp, protectively
the missile lodged deep in my chest.

"Do not help me, lest I die."
I shall summon all my strength
and break the stick in half the length--
"I will live in spite of it"

and own the spirit of my foe:

until my death, he's mine.

This is totally fierce. I absolutely loved it - especially the ending.

If I don't say it...who will?

I quiver too, after reading you!

Powerful and haunting!

Love and hugs.

Cupid's belated arrow...

much aligned...

much assigned.

What is another word for

mea culpa and

I understand?

Thanks for reading.

This has nothing to do with the poem, but some of you might remember me talking about my dog--Annie/Annabelladonnatellacinderella.

She died early this morning.

She was a damned fine dog, too, and I already miss her leaning on my leg as I type.

Weird. I was just coming back to save this--and I know I shouldn't offer explanation, but I do a lot of things that I should not.

It's not a Valentine, my brother and sisters.

It's about acceptance of an emotional wound--and nod, people will want to take the weight of that away from you, with good intent, but if you do that? You open a scar, and the healing part was/is...MINE.

I doooooo so love you all.

Thanks Ida.

And yes, I miss my girl Annie, so I appreciate much all of your support.

Smiling, I slightly disagree that it's not a certain type of valentine...

after all,

I think Cupid sends us dogs
because God is busy with the cats.

Poe and Twain miss your Annie, as
we continue to miss our Abby!

power may not be the word here Karen. authority, dominion. yes, those are better.

I am so sorry about your Annie.
