So you know the worth of life;
Is that with or without a wife?
Or does true worth to do with cash,
That you have so carefully stashed?

Does the worth of one fall too short,
Is it judged by a snooty court?
Is the worth we process to seek,
Really that special and unique?

Is freedom the key to it all,
Or your name on a bathroom wall?
Are you free to pursue your dream,
Seeking your own crème de la crème?

Do you judge your peers of their worth,
Are they worth more because of birth?
Duty and work, do they mean less,
Than a rebel whose life's a mess?

The pious, they walk narrow roads,
They live by their own set of codes.
Do their morals give them the right,
Look down their nose from Rapture's height?

Your worth, what does it mean to you,
Does it make you happy or blue?
Do you go to bed with good cheer,
Content with your worth, and sincere?

Every single human being alive has  worth. That is my truth.      I also believe our creator holds our worth much higher than we will ever know.  Tough questions, Jerry...important questions. .. your writes are never boring!

My best~

Tough questions indeed and one much answer before it’s too late. Fine writing, again Jerry.

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry, Thanks for sharing my angst with every one. I've beeen struggling to find those words for quite some time now.  No wonder I couldn't find them- they were hiding in your heart.

Great question poem Jerry.

None of us are the same and that's so beautiful. We have different gifts to share and make the best of what we really are personally.
However, things that affect us come from our imperfections as lowly humans. Jealousy, strife, pettiness etc. seem to arise from our spirit of independence our seeking self esteem, all part of our make up.
I firmly believe when we realize the benefits of being humble we begin to see ourself in a different light.
Stevie Ray Vaughn one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time once commented that it wasn't until he learned to be humble could he realize his greatest achievements were only human and surpassable by others.

If Stevie Ray said it I believe it. THE greatest blues guitarist that ever lived. I think you are correct with the humble theory, but I would add a touch of attitude to go along with it. If you have those two elements at the correct proportions, you are unbeatable as a human being. Not many can bring it off.

Thanks for reading and commenting, Eric.

ebm, sometimes what we look for and cannot find is because it is right in front of our eyes, but we tend to look everywhere but there. Thanks for your kind words.
