Basement Monsters

Cracks vaguely fill from the center,
Leading narrow unwelcoming steps,
Pungent moisture grip the morbid basement,
Fine rusting hesitantly moving away doors,

Helplessly ignoring footsteps on old dust,
Monstrous valiant lying idle center table,
Clutches present those forgotten stains,
Impious soundless hanging naïve hooks,

Surgical knife capable of inflicting precise cuts,
Thick head, no nonsense quiet large hammer,
Observing closely silent scratches of screams,
Struggling movements of innocent feet,

Where the pretty moths are downright ugly,
Motionless, emotionless, not longing anymore,
No hate, no love, carefree, no illogical metaphors,
Decaying fragrance dance to their distinct tunes.

WoW! Quite an assortment of nasty and deadly mix of implements of personal destruction. Glum and despair spins throughout this offering. I get in to=hose moods myself quite frequently.

Nicely done, Prasad! I can remember going down into the basement as a small boy, half-terrified of what monsters might be down there, waiting...creepy stuff!

Thank you Sir for your kind words. I’ve always been scared of going to the basement after darkness falls.

I don`t think I would like to be in a place where pretty moths were downright ugly, scattered about a surgical knife that made precise cuts.  Ghoulishly goody!
