she was almost one dog young
when she was taken from the forests
and the spirit people
and given jesus salvation
in the white stone prison

she was nearly three dogs older
when she stole keys from the robes
after giving away her womb
in trade for the star sky
and some deer skin healing

she was of four dogs age after
when she found the cave place
and made story pictures on the walls
to show the heavy hearted people
the old ways before jesus god

now she is of six dogs living
she is a spirit sometimes in forests
and the wise ones speak of her
around the hunting lodge fires
when they make arrowheads and spears

from the stones of white robe's church
