When I read your poems,   I
see you writing away
all your emotions upon
a piece of paper.
The tears you shed, the cries
that the world buried,
and silence from
their minds. You grind
your teeth and your
heart that couldn't
say by mouth, but by
pen.
I can sense your joys,
your pains, your confusion
and your secrets. I
feel it all as you
lay them on this sheet,
where most are blank.
Being taken from destintation
after destintation
without leaving home.
I never seen your face,
but I know your past,
your family, friends,
your
   life.

Isn't it the truth?  You can read so much about people through their poetry.  It's a wonderful thing!  Well said.

When we read the poetry of great poets  we learn much, but when we read the poetry of those we have come to know, we make close friends. Thank you for this post on behalf of all the great people here who are poets and aspiring poets.  latearrival

ken206573 - it does seem that poets write into words their thoughts, you say it well...

that is exatly the beauty of poetry. It tells a story, it makes people know you without knowing you. and poetry is an escape. It has always been mine, and I'm sure there are countless people like me who wouldnt survive without it.

I am that I am,
And that makes it me.
I float like a rock
But I sting like a bee.
