Some years ago, when Midnite was living by the sea,
She emailed that someday I might visit her, by the sea.
We would walk, collecting sea-shells on the beach.
She said she wanted me to feel the elemtal power
Of mighty, crashing Pacific ocean breakers,
More imagined than felt, since I am deaf.
She inspired me to write, as I’m reposting now,
fighting back the tears …

And I Will Walk ...

… And I will walk
Into the Pacific Ocean,
And I will not be afraid,
because Midnitesun will be with me.
Midnitesun and me,
Waiding in the sea
Under moonlight
Under starlight,
Surrounded by the Light of Midnite,
Midnitesun and me,
Wading the Pacific Sea.
And we’ll be free.
And we will break the surface of the Ocean,
The great primordial womb,
the cradle, the incubus of Life.
Midnitesun and me,
Swimming the Pacific Sea …

But allas,
It would never be.

Thank you, Late.
You’re the first one that … well they don’t seem to read my poems.
Midnitesun did see this, and some others replied to it.
And yes, it’s like you say about flowers.  The dead neither know nor care about flowersfor them.  Flowers are given just to asswage the feelings of the living and it doesn’t matter to the dead.  Mark Twain wrote a funny story, which I haven’t read, where a carracter arranges to “die” so that he can hear a parade of mourners talk about what a “great” person he was, since he knew they wouldn’t tell him all these things while they thought he was alive.

Jaime,

I know that you and Kacy had a friendship that was special.  My heart goes out to you.  Who knows - maybe she is waiting for you to someday walk out into the sea with. It just not be the time.  Hang in there.

Your friend,
Alison

Me too I have to fight back the tears reading this beautiful verse, dear Jaime.

You have this heart memory to cherish forever. And it will happen one day, this dream of hearing the waves crash ...

Love,
Margherita
