                  Telepathetic

tel.e.pa.the.tic (n) One who knows other people think their lives are pathetic.

Today was much like yesterday, perhaps though more mundane.
A droll stroll through the work-day world for hardly any gain.
A drink or two before some fare that's good, but lacks in zest.
Just one more in a string of meals that all taste like the rest.

A few more drinks, some internet to play a couple games,
until the only thing that's new is still the same old same.
A mannequin who's given in to self complacency,
from all outward appearances, that's telepathetically me.

Yet, springs from this monotony a way  to work with words,
perhaps to use them in some ways that few have ever heard,
to bend them and to shape them and if need be cut in half,
and then regroup them in some way to try to make you laugh.

If laughter's such good medicine I'm hoping you'll agree,
I should keep on dispensing it, that's telepathetically me.

Cpat,
Thank you. Lol, the envelope is there, it's just that I envision myself to be just off the edge of it.
Doc

katahdin,
Thanks , but I'd be careful, recent studies have proven that too much of this type of medicine may have adverse side effects.

Sir Dr. Moose... Would that I could be as pathetic to produce such high quality poetic schtick. Its good to read you again... I especially enjoyed the line "A mannequin who's given in to self complacency,"

Peace to you my old friend.

We're quite a team, the telepathetic
And the pathetic apathetic.
Our force is certainly not kinetic
Perhaps because it's all genetic.

Your humor is a joy to see
Though I speak apathetically.
Your thoughts transcend reality
In ways that always challenge me.

So do it as you do so well
With jokes to spread and tales to tell
And I will write on your behalf,
These tombstone words, "He made us laugh".

Andrew,
Hey ol' buddy, it's good to read you again too. Ten years ago you proposed we do a story line that had a "Star Wars" theme. I'm still terrible w/ computers so I can't give you the link but you may want to check out "Poem Wars" for a laugh.

Balladeer.
Thank you, laughing along with your quick witted poetic reply. If that is to be my epitaph, I will have done myself proud.
