Cool Dipper Down

Formed of the searching and sweat by countless second chances
When I am most spent and least resilient, do I reach and refill
Gulping down the cool in clear blue memories: You flood my soul
A horizon of easy, alight with sea green gasps, and frothy waves
Where brine might have healed the gape, but fresh water now wells
I let go of ropes and tangled hopes that keep me safely where I was
To ask you not for what we had, instead to join the teasing tide
Down deep into the caverns of remember me echoes, deep down
Into attachment and hope I will, each drink cupped in my hands
Licked off my fingers, a probing kiss
To search your mind and find the sweet solace of your lips
That we might find by taste our destiny

"I let go of ropes and tangled hopes that keep me safely where I was"

I can taste the cool metal of the dipper TD
it quenches what thirsts me
