Listening to every heart

The Poets of Passion

My favorites now return to flight
Saucily tanged, urged to alight
Amid blue skies of luscious cite
Should I beg them, write, men, write.

Liken to Jays, Tangs or Orioles
Or Scarletts that scream in whole
“feed me, feed me” but lo, behold
They feed me, feed me, in total, by toll.

Negligent, I shall succumb
To dreams what would benumb
For I am finger to their thumb
Sheathing the beat of their drum, drum, drum.

Ah, yes, my favorites are now hither
Wording words that claim by slither
Around my genus that they claim
For Poets they are, by no other name.

They proclaim my body held by cede
I proclaim their words…by selfish need.

~*~

Smiling here...
the boys of summer, winter, spring and fall
are home again.

You are lucky that you have a variey of boys this summer.  Living in the city we have mostly pigeons.  I guess they are the bowery boys of our area.  The city prohibits us from feeding them and considers them pests but I like them.

I use the word "benumb" occasionally when speaking of Toerag. Of course, when I use it, it is two words

I use the word "numbnuts" occasionally when speaking of Balladeer. Of course, when I use it, it is two words.

This was a great poem honey, I enjoyed.
