Life.

A fairly significant word
isn’t it?

I was just sitting here
trying to break it down
into categories
like, what, where, who, how, and,
why.

Why.

Is that the most important
question?

And why is that?

Why is why
so meaningful?

Why is the sky blue?

Why are we here?

Why are you so beautiful?

Why do I care for you, so?

Lots of important moments in our life
begin and end with, why.

Like why do words
from two people
who care for each other,
never really meet?

What if we each sent a (Hug)
to each other at the same time
or a kiss, or more?

Would they meet in space
somewhere?

Would they linger, with each other
before they appeared on our screens?

They say these emails, and instant messages
appear in, real time,
but what is that, real time?

A second, two, three, more?

A lot can happen, in a split second
can’t it?.

People are born
in a certain second.

And people, leave us
in another one.

People have misunderstandings
and leave each other
in a final second.

And others still, make up
and continue their relationship
for all the seconds
they have left
to live.

I wonder if my words
wait for you
on a corner somewhere
off cloud Highway 99?

Waiting, and waiting
for eons of instant
for my chit
to cherish your chat.

For our, vis a vis
to squeeze and tease,
where our tete a tete
first met to sweat
for our heart to heart
to kiss, then part.

Words have no fear
of being hurt
do they?

Only the people
who write them do.

I know that my words
so want to hold yours
in a full embrace
their arms around your
shoulders pulling your lips
toward mine.

Hands, running through
your hair
and up and down your back
and swaying hips
my right cheek nuzzled
on the right side of your
flushed neck
hot breath, panting
on the moistness
of your nape
a mouth nibbling
on an ear, as a tongue
licks a chin and circles
around lips engorged
with want and summer
as eyes glazed
see lyrics and valleys
and gardens
with the bloom and renewal,
of each other.

It’s time for them to leave
though,
and there they are
our words,
walking down
that invisible trail
together
holding hands,
in a nice straight line.

But then
nothing lasts forever
right?

Or does it?

They’ve come
to a fork in the road
that veers off into two
different angles
forming yet, another Y
in their cobblestone
of continuance.

Another, why,
in their life.

Which way do they go
from here?

There’s left
and there’s right,
and there’s
together
and there’s,
apart?

I know
what my words
want to do.

Do yours?

And why?

nice to follow this winding trail through your mind Richy, my friend. I do love the journeys.

Kinda like stopping off here and there to smell the flowers

yeah, like that

Ahh, Why.. the eternal open-ended question.. one I`ve wrangled with in many different incarnations throughout life.. If you ever figure out the answer, be sure to let us know, hey?

My, what a lovely piece, Richy.

Reading this was like following a familiar trail of questions so often pondered by myself and many.  I liked the flow from thought to thought here - remaining connected while fluidly moving my mind on to the next question to contemplate. Very much enjoyed.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Richy, yanno? Many many years ago I smoked some of the finest herbal medicine available. (Of course, like all the drugs I used, I'd just smoke a little or pop a few pills just in case I may get hurt later in the day, you know, preventive medicine)? And for some reason, I can truly understand the thoughts and feelings you express so eloquently, poem after poem? Just goes to show ya, drugs won't hurt ya-won't hurt ya-won't hurt ya. Seriously, I know my mind is fried and it goes all over the place and most of the time, if it makes sense at all, it's pretty poorly written. You my friend are incredible. I'm not implying you have been influenced by the pharmacy or even by the corner "piller of the community" ...but your mind is pretty strange but you use it so very very well.

Dixie, thank you dear, we can never smell too many flowers can we?

Bluesy,  Bluesy,  my words are always waiting for you… Happy Everyday to you too!

Amaryllis, I’m afraid I’m not smart enough to know such answers, but you are Thank you my friend!

Dear Kit, what a wonderful surprise to have you review one of my doodles… I so appreciate that! I hope all is well with you and your’s.

Toe, I lit up some electric spinach too one day, but don’t worry, I never exhaled… cough!  You’re right though, drugs are the answer, now what was the question again??     Yeah my mind, is pretty strange isn’t it? I’ve been telling myself that for years, but it just won’t listen to me? Lately I’ve been trying to influence my writing with hash, but you can have it if you want it, I just can’t seem to keep the corn beef lit… ? …
Thanks so much for all the kind words, I’m so glad we’re buddies now, you, and Balladeer both, you guys a toot, I mean hoot, and a half. But seriously, you guys are the one’s that are incredible, not I. I just smoke life and take double shots of  kindred spirits.

Thanks everyone!

Much Love.
Richard xx
