              Janus Song

Along this forgotten forest road
lies an old truck abandoned …
to vanish among the Janus snowdrops,
white-velvet frost, and bare trees
    tipped by silver moonlight.
In these deep-winter woods,
where you may leave ‘the world’
    far away
like fading echoes of distant
    evening bells,
only gentle serenity reigns
as time and fixed purpose
    matter no more.

Yo Secondhanddreampoet,

This works well as a tribute to Janus, the god of doorways.

... that eternally 'two-faced' deity ... one always looking from said
'doorways' to the past ... the other, of course ... to the future!
